Thoughtful teaching. Meaningful learning.

Hi, I’m Laila—an experienced general and special education teacher, curriculum creator, tutor, and the founder of Modz Learning Labs.

I created Modz Learning Labs to give children a place where learning feels engaging, purposeful, and personal. Each lab is thoughtfully designed to help children strengthen academic skills while also developing confidence, creativity, communication, and independence.

My goal is not simply to help children complete an activity. I want them to think deeply, ask questions, work through challenges, share their ideas, and leave each session feeling proud of what they accomplished.

What are Modz Learning Labs?

Modz Learning Labs are small-group enrichment classes created for homeschool families. Each lab gives children an opportunity to explore important skills through hands-on projects, collaborative challenges, guided instruction, and meaningful problem-solving.

Are these classes a complete homeschool curriculum?

No. Modz Learning Labs are enrichment experiences that support and complement your child’s homeschool education. Parents remain responsible for their child’s primary instruction, curriculum, attendance, and state homeschool requirements.

What is included in the registration price?

The registration price includes all scheduled class sessions, instructional materials, project supplies, hands-on activities, and any take-home resources provided during the lab. Families do not need to purchase a separate supply list unless specifically noted.

How large are the classes?

Class sizes are intentionally kept small so every child has opportunities to participate, ask questions, receive support, and contribute to group activities. Most classes are limited to approximately 8–10 students, depending on the age group and lab.

Do parents stay during class?

Parent expectations may vary by age group and location. For younger classes, parents may be welcome to remain nearby while children participate independently. Specific arrival, dismissal, and supervision information will be shared before the first session.

What happens if my child misses a class?

Because classes are offered as a short multi-week experience, individual make-up sessions are generally not available. When appropriate, families may receive materials or a brief summary of what was covered so their child can stay connected to the class.

What if my child needs additional learning support?

Modz Learning Labs are designed to be welcoming and supportive. Laila has extensive experience in general and special education. Parents are encouraged to share any important learning, communication, sensory, behavioral, or medical information during registration so the class can be prepared thoughtfully.

What is the cancellation and refund policy?

Because enrollment is limited and supplies are purchased in advance, registration fees are generally nonrefundable once the stated cancellation deadline has passed. The full policy should be reviewed during registration before payment is submitted.

Where are the Learning Labs held?

Classes are offered in the Lexington, South Carolina area at carefully selected community locations. The exact location, parking information, and arrival instructions will be listed on the registration page and included in your confirmation email.
